
Our club membership is open to anyone with enthusiasm and a love of boating and related activities. However, you do not need to own a boat to join. Members with boats frequently invite boat-less members on sails to near-by clubs and ports.
The range of interests includes cruising and racing events in the summer,
educational seminars during those off-water months, and social activities throughout
the year.
As this is a member's run Club, everyone pitches in on work parties to keep the Club in perfect running order, and members are expected to join one or several committees. The various committees include Building and Planning, AHSEP (Atlantic Highlands Sailing Education Program), Yachting/Cruising, Race, Launch, Committee of Members, Special Olympics and Entertainment.
Membership Applicant Instructions
To apply for membership in the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club, please follow the instructions below:
- Obtain a membership application from the club steward, or sponsoring member, or download and print via this link.
- Complete and sign the membership application. You must have two club members also sign the application as sponsors.
- Return the completed application along with a check for the initiation fee and one quarters dues to the yacht club.

Types of Membership
- Active Membership - Includes two people, living at the same address (this may be a spouse or significant other; or a child or step-child between the ages of 18 and 26.)
- Junior Membership - Open to adults age 18 to 26. Non-voting membership pays no initiation fee and ½ the current annual dues. At age 26, the junior member must become an Active Member.
- Provisional Membership - This is available to individuals who are over the age of 25 and have not been members of the AHYC within the last ten years. Provisional membership is a discounted one (1) year trial membership.
- Military Membership - This is available to Active Duty members of the US. Armed Forces.
Candidates must be proposed and seconded by members in good standing who have belonged to the club for at least one year. Applications are posted for 21 days before an interview with the membership committee is arranged, after which, the application is presented to the Board of Governors.
